Travel to Munich
By plane
Munich airport, the second largest in Germany, offers excellent continental and intercontinental air connections to 65 countries.
Public transportation is a quick and easy way to get from the airport to the city centre or the ICM at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre.
The Airport S-Bahn S1 travels from Munich airport via Neufahrn, Moosach, Laim, Munich Hauptbahnhof (Main Station), Marienplatz to Ostbahnhof (Munich East).
To Munich Hauptbahnhof (Main Station) it takes 45 minutes. From there the U2 subway runs at 10-minute intervals from 5.30 to 24.00 h. It goes straight to the ICM/New Munich Trade Fair Centre („Messestadt West“ station).
Alternatively the Airport S-Bahn S8 travels from Munich Airport via Ismaning, Ostbahnhof (Munich East), Isartor, Marienplatz, Karlsplatz/Stachus, Hauptbahnhof (Main Station), Laim and Pasing to Geltendorf.
By train
From the Munich Hauptbahnhof (Main Station) the U2 subway runs at 10-minute intervals from 5.30 to 24.00 h straight to the ICM/New Munich Trade Fair Centre („Messestadt West“ station). The trip takes about 20 minutes.
By car
The ICM and the New Munich Trade Fair Centre are situated directly next to the A94 motorway.
Public Transportation
Free use of Munich´s public transportation system (inner district) from 14 – 17 July 2008 is included in the congress registration fee. The public transportation ticket is valid from when it is first used and stamped until 17 July 2008, 24.00 h.
