CINP Congress Awards 2008 - Munich 2008
The CINP 2008 awards are not to be missed! The following awards will be presented during the Opening Ceremony at the ICM, Hall 14 on Sunday, 13 July 2008 at 18.00 h. A reception will follow. Recognition of the Rafaelsen Young Investigator awards and the mentees will take place in a by-invitation-only ceremony Sunday afternoon, 13 July. The Poster Awards will be presented during the Closing Ceremony.
Lilly Neuroscience Basic Research Award
The Lilly Neuroscience Basic Research Award is given to a scientist in recognition of an outstanding contribution to psychopharmacology and will be presented at the XXVI CINP Congress in Munich. The recipient of the 2008 award has been chosen by an international scientific jury. This award consists of a monetary award, an engraved plaque, paid registration fees for the Congress, round trip economy air travel, and up to five nights accommodation at a Congress Hotel.

Lilly Neuroscience Clinical Research Award
The Lilly Neuroscience Clinical Research Award is given to a scientist in recognition of an outstanding contribution to psychopharmacology and will be presented at the XXVI CINP Congress in Munich. The recipient of the 2008 award has been chosen by an international scientific jury. This award consists of a monetary award, an engraved plaque, paid registration fees for the Congress, round trip economy air travel, and up to five nights accommodation at a Congress Hotel.

The Dr. Paul Janssen Schizophrenia Research Award
The Dr. Paul Janssen Schizophrenia Research Award is given to a young investigator who has performed outstanding research in the field of Basic or Clinical Neuroscience of Schizophrenia at a University, Institute, or any other acknowledged scientific institution. This research must be independent and not supported by the pharmaceutical industry. The award will be presented at the XXVI CINP Congress in Munich. The recipient of the 2008 award has been chosen by an international scientific jury. This award consists of a monetary award, an engraved plaque, paid registration fees for the Congress, round trip economy air travel, and up to five nights accommodation at a Congress Hotel.

Max Hamilton Memorial Prize
Max Hamilton, M.D., F.R.C.P., F.R.C.Psych., D.P.M. (1912-1988) is best known for his assessment of depressive illness through psychometrics. The Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression is widely used throughout the world, and his 1960 paper on the problem of measuring the severity of depression is probably the most cited medical publication in the second half of the twentieth century. The recipient of the 2008 award has been chosen by an international scientific jury. This prize consists of a monetary award and an engraved plaque, to be presented at the XXVI CINP Congress in Munich.

Rafaelsen Young Investigators Award (Fellowship Award)
In 1986 Ole Rafaelsen and William Bunney were instrumental in establishing a CINP program supporting the attendance of young scientists at the XXV CINP Congress in 1986. That program was posthumously named the Rafaelsen Fellowship Award to honor Dr. Rafaelsen, who died in 1987.
The recipients of the XXVI Congress awards were chosen by an international scientific jury. Ten were selected and will be presented with awards consisting of round trip advance purchase economy air travel, up to five days lodging, a certificate, a cash stipend including an element for ground transportation in the total amount of US $ 500, and waived registration fees at the XXVI CINP Congress in Munich.
CINP Pioneers in Psychopharmacology Award
The Award is given at each Congress to three individuals to honor those who have made major contributions to the field as it has developed. The contributions may be in research, clinical, or administrative areas but must be internationally recognized as significant to the growth of the field. Pioneer Awardees receive travel to and lodging at the XXVI Congress in Munich and appropriate recognition at the meeting.
CINP Mentor - Mentee Award
The BEST MENTOR-MENTEE AWARD was established to recognize the mentor-mentee pair that over the previous two years has best exemplified the mission and goals of the Programme. The mentor is judged by the enthusiasm and commitment to providing consistent and nurturing guidance to the assigned mentee. The mentee is judged by the consistent ability to take advantage of the mentor´s expertise by maintaining frequent contact with the mentor and producing tangible evidence of progress attributable to the mentoring relationship.
This year´s pair will be announced at the Opening Ceremony as the selection has not been made as of yet. An ad hoc committee is being appointed to make the selection.

CINP Poster Awards 2008
These awards serve to encourage young scientists (under 35) who are actively involved in clinical and pre-clinical research. The final selection of poster awards will be made on the basis of the study‘s scientific excellence.
